The neck appears to have been refinished but the job was well done in the original color. This is difficult to detect on the back and sides but shows up on the top when held to the light just so. As part of their quest to keep this guitar looking new, a much earlier owner had a very thin coat of lacquer oversprayed on the body. Although it has its original Grover tuners and pickguard, the following work has been done: the neck was professionally reset and refretted, and the bridge is a accurate replica of the original (which had probably been cut down to lower the string action before the neck was reset). As a result, the relentless aging process we often observe in old Martin guitars was essentially put on hold.
